From the Caringbridge web site for Gene Stegall (who is being treated for brain tumor), husband of Jane Turner Stegall (posted by their good friend Carol Spencer:
Jane on the mend!
By Carol Spencer — 1 hour ago
On Friday afternoon, 11/13, Jane was driving to the pulmonologist. She had been feeling bad for almost 24 hours and had been trying to get in to the doctor all day. Finally, she was getting to go. Unfortunately, a left turn didn't work out as planned, and Jane's car and another scraped each other on the driver's side. Jane was shaken and taken to the hospital ("Harris Methodist," downtown Fort Worth) and admitted. After blood tests, x-rays and CT scans, she was admitted with pneumonia. She is being treated with IV antibiotics, breathing treatments, and lots of watchfulness.
On Saturday around noon, a nurse indicated that Jane would likely be in the hospital for a total of three days, awaiting the results of the blood cultures. They want to be sure that she is on the mend with the right antibiotics before she, goes home. (She has mentioned that her neck and back and hip are hurting, so I'm sure that they are reviewing the CT scans and x-rays to be sure she is on the mend in those areas, too.)
Forrest and Dawna are taking good care of Gene. Forrest spent the night with Gene on Friday, and Gene was spending the day with Dawna and Brian on Saturday. Gene and Jane are blessed with a sweet family nearby that loves them.
Keep Gene and Jane in your prayers for peace and healing. It's not easy to be away from the ones you love the most when times are tough. We want them to be right by our side. So pray for peace and healing -- and a certainty about God's love. Your prayers mean a lot to these two!

Well, it has been almost a week since we began our weekend long celebration of 50 years since graduation from Frank L. Ashley High School. It was great to see old friends and renew friendships of long, long ago. Many memories came flooding back. I had pulled out some old scrapbooks to take a long walk down memory lane in the week before our reunion. It is interesting to look back and see what I thought was important enough to preserve and include in my scrapbook of old. Newspaper clippings, assorted articles from Fine Yarns, movie ticket stubs, napkins with event and date scribbled on them and an occasional photograph (we didn’t have digital cameras and selfies back then).
Now I have new memories... and quite a few snapshots of the events (although I didn’t capture all that I wanted – anyone want to share some???). I hope everyone was able to enjoy the moments we had together... fleeting as they were. The reunion committee worked long and hard to pull off a whole weekend of events and Rusty and I appreciate their honoring us as “team leaders” for this reunion. We will treasure the memories forever...
